Triathlon.

So I am training for a Triathlon. I decided I was going to do one, then didnt train, and didnt sign up for one. Then last week I became redetermined, signed up for it and started the training. My Tri is in one month folks. One month. I have found that I dont really care what ppl think of me while I'm training in the pool at the gym (see here) So that being said- The race is in an actual reservoir.Lets just say I am going to drown. I've come to terms with that. Not really-because I have to wear a Wetsuit. And that makes you more bouyant :) yipee. But still.So anyway the training has been intense. Running is easier cuz you can just go. This is a bit different, I'm not a very good swimmer, and biking is new to me. However training is going well and I feel really good. So I guess I will update more later about it all- but it is July 30th. I think I am a bit nuts. I cant believe I am doing this, I think I may be retarded.

Oh and is it just me? or is this font REALLY hard to read?

So this last week was decent. Monday I ran 5 miles (not on the elliptical! ) it felt pretty good but toward the end my knee started to ache. So for the remainder of the day I wore a brace. I totally spaced the fact that I would be playing 2 games that night (volleyball to be exact). It was the first night of our rec team season, and lets just say it was hilarious and fun and exerting to say the least. The next day I was a little sore- haven't used the ol hip flexors in a while, Well wednesday rolled around and I couldnt move. What the devil? How did that even happen? I am able to run for an hour and a half + straight and not be sore the next day- but 2 days later after playing a little ball- and Im down for the count? Who am I? Well - wednesday I was determined I was going to run- but couldn't move- so whats the next best thing? I went and got some new runnin shoes!! Go asics..... Sus- I know you are all pro saucony and what not- which I was pretty stoked on them too- until I tried these babies on side by side with The Saucs. They arent that good looking, and what the heck? I had no idea running shoes were supposed to be big... but makes sense. I have big feet- so in turn- HUGE shoes- So turns out the Asics won. And they are lovely. Not beautiful but they make my feet happy. I think. So Thursday was a glorious day- 54 degrees and windy.... I'll take it I guess. I left the beebs with my neighbor and set our for a 5 miler with a pretty decent hill... As I was going the sun came out and was just pleading with me to extend the run, I ended up doing 7 miles - which was a cake walk. Right up until I was on the home stretch and my knee got a huge shooting pain that took my breath away and brought me to the ground. Crap. As I skipped, prayed,trotted, walked, held my knee, said another prayer and tried to jog it out- I fell yet again 3 more times during the last mile to my house. This is not good. Not good. So the rest of the day I was in pretty bad agony- even with the help of 800mgs of my dear friend Ibuprofen before and after..... I was pretty worried. Woke up friday and was just fine! Ok this is weird what the heck is even going on? Saturday I decided to take it easy and do the elliptical- did 10 miles- and it felt GREAT! no pain, just had grand ole time trying to pass the time for an hour and a half on a machine- not going anywhere, no real change of scenery unless you count just staring at 3 different joggers butts, legs and checkin out everybodys shoes that were in front of me.Well, I've decided to be really careful for reals this time and do a full week of JUST elliptical and hopefully I will be healed enough that I can run with you Sus when we come on the 25th. (CANT WAIT! SO SO SOSO EXCITED) getting tired of running alone, Cant wait to get a taste of the actual course~ and seriously cant wait to hang out with you!

18.5 miles for the week


Well I went again today, I only ran 3 times this week. 3 on monday
7.2 on thursday and 8.3 today
Sweet Hills
I felt good and did better timewise.... of course I had some help with the pace..........
Hopefully next week will be able to log over 20 miles.

finally

Hey I made it pass 6 miles finally!!! I am pretty slow but considering the lack of sleep and the huge hills I did, not to mention my strength training I did before my run, I feel good about the time. And yes we moved and our new place has palms.... and yes it was super sunny... and yes I did get a sunburn in March. Jealous yet?
